Paintings 2015

Fred has been returning to studies of the figure in 2015. The energy in his new work comes from the ever-present tension between his love for drawing and his training under Abstract Expressionists - a school that focused on composition, color, and materials, not representation. Daily sketches, watercolors, and photography all make their way into these works, not to mention an extensive knowledge of art history, mythology, religion, books, and philosophy.
